Budapest
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Budapest (pronounced /ˈbuːdəpɛst/, also /ˈbʊdəpɛst/, /ˈbjuːdəpɛst/ or /ˈbuːdəpɛʃt/; Hungarian pronunciation: [ˈbudɒpɛʃt]is the capital of Hungary. As the largest city of Hungary, it serves as the country's principal political, cultural, commercial, industrial, and transportation centre. In 2009, Budapest had 1,712,210 inhabitants, down from a mid-1980s peak of 2.1 million. The Budapest Commuter Area is home to 3,271,110 people. The city covers an area of 525 square kilometres (202.7 sq mi) within the city limits. Budapest became a single city occupying both banks of the river Danube with a unification on 17 November 1873 of right (west)-bank Buda and Óbuda with left (east)-bank Pest.
The panorama is made of 1200 pictures at focal length of 400mm.
I took this beautiful shot from the top of the Buda Castle. Here you can see a full 360° spherical panorama from the same day:

This is a spherical panorama taken from the Elizabeth lookout at Janos Hegyi (hill). On the top of János hill the Elizabeth Lookout (Erzsébet-kilátó) was built in 1908-1910). The lookout offers a splendid view in all directions and in clear weather it is possible to see as far as the mountain peaks at around 80 kilometers.
The 70 GigaPixel Photo of Budapest was shot the same day. You can see it here if you have Microsoft Silverlight installed: http://70gigapixel.cloudapp.net/

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Zugspitze is the highest mountain in Germany, at 2,962 metres above sea level. It is located on the Austrian border beside the town of Grainau in the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in the federal-state of Bavaria. On the Austrian side lies the town of Ehrwald in the district of Reutte, Tyrol. There is a cog railway (Zugspitzbahn ) leading from the tourist resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen all the way to the peak. There are also two cable cars that go to the peak from the base of the mountain: one ascends from the German side of the mountain at the lake Eibsee (Eibsee Cable Car), and the other ascends from Austria near Ehrwald (Tyrolean Zugspitze Cable Car ). The peak is regularly crowded with tourists.
For those wishing to reach the summit under their own power, various hiking and ski trails can also be followed to the top. Hiking to the top from the base takes between one and two days, or a few hours for the very fit. Food and lodging is available on some trails. In winter the Zugspitze is a popular skiing and snowboarding destination, with several slopes on both sides. The Zugspitzplatt is Germany's highest ski resort, and thus normally has sufficient snow throughout the winter.
The border between Germany and Austria goes right through the mountain. There used to be a border checkpoint at the summit. But since Germany and Austria are now both part of the Schengen zone, the border crossing is no longer staffed.
The Zugspitze belongs to the Wetterstein range in the Northern Limestone Alps. It gets its name from the many avalanche passages (Lawinenzüge in German) on its steep north slopes.

The Swiss Air Force demonstration at the Ebenfluh Shooting Range,
mostly referred to as Axalp because of the nearby village, is a unique possibility to see jet fighters doing live gun shooting. Together with the impressive scenery the demo is an experience that one will never forget.
The shooting range is located at an altitude of 7365 feet (2242m) in the middle of the Swiss Alps.
Most impressive show is always the life fire demonstration were 6 -8 F-5E Tiger II of Fliegerstaffel 8 (FighterSquadron8) fly a defined course on up to 4 different targets located around the spectator area. This is followed by a similar demonstration of F-18C Hornets. You can even see the fire at the target area!

Pula (Italian: Pola; Slovene: Pulj) is the largest city in Istria County, Croatia, located at the southern tip of the Istria peninsula. Like the rest of the region, it is known for its mild climate, tame sea, and unspoiled nature. The city has a long tradition of wine making, fishing, shipbuilding, and tourism. Pula has also been Istria's administrative center since ancient Roman times.
This is a 360° panorama made up of 520 images at focal length of 300 mm.
The panorama has been shot from the tower of the old castle in Pula.

Rovinj was already a settlement of Illyrian tribes before being captured by the Romans, who called it Arupiunum or Mons Rubineus, and later Ruginium and Ruvinium. Built on an island close to the coast, it was connected with the mainland in 1763 by filling in the channel.
It became part of the Byzantine empire, then in the sixth century part of the Exarchate of Ravenna and in 788 part of the Frankish empire. Then it came under the rule of different feudal lords during several centuries. From 1209 it was ruled by the Aquilean patriarch.
It was from 1283 to 1797 one of the most important towns of Istria under the Republic of Venice. The city was fortified by two rows of walls with three town gates. The remaining town walls date from this period. Close to the pier one can find the old town gate Balbi's Arch, dating from 1680, and a late-Renaissance clock tower. The city got its statutes in 1531.
After the fall of Venice and the Napoleonic parenthesis, Rovinj was part of the Austrian Empire until World War I. Then it belonged to Italy from 1918 to 1947, when it was ceded to SR Croatia within SFR Yugoslavia. During that period much of the Italian inhabitants left the city.

The cape Kamenjak is Maritime Park in Istria/Croatia which has 30 km long cost, incredible beaches, bays and hidden places which can be explored. When visiting Cape Kamenjak, don't miss its southernmost tip where a great attraction is jumping into the sea from high cliff with torches.
