California'sCentral Valley is about 100 miles x 700 miles. This view of the Sierra shows unusual clarity that can follow a storm and flood the valley with cold clear air from the front. The snow capped peaks are more than a hundred miles away.
The panorama was taken in Morgan Territory North of Livermore California.

This weathered sandstone outcrop near Hollister California has some unique features for this location.
Boulders have fallen into some of the canyons creating dark caves and long underground trails following streams.

Now that it is February, Central California is showing some green in the hills.

Photographers make good use of the views that they have. This high trail takes a bit of effort, but the views and condor sightings are well worth it.
