What else do you on a wet, windy afternoon. This is a bit of an experiment (with an older model camera) as it has been taken through a double glazed window with a 8MP Samsung Pro 815 camera (now discontinued) it has a 15x optical Schneider-KREUZNACH zoom lens (28-420mm equiv.) manual zoom, no image stablisation system, but can record in Raw, TIFF or JPEG and a 500 shot battery, as well as a wealth of other photographic features.

See if you can spot the 260 Ladybirds basking in the sunlight (including the only one with it's wings out) ?
History...this is just one of a number of historic sites run by Jersey Heritage (www.jerseyheritage.org) Hamptonne House takes it's name from the family who bought the property in 1633. It was Laurens Hamptonne who proclaimed Charles II King, in the Market Place in St. Helier, in February 1649. Over the centuries this house has been transformed a number of times, as tastes changed. Originally it was a large single room open to the rafters, the first floor was added in the sixteenth century in order to allow the farmer and his family more privacy from the servants etc......

Keeping Jersey 'special' has never been easy or indeed always possible. Currently there is a tangible groundswell of public unease at the marked changes to the character of much of our coastline, changes that are leaving Islanders with a genuine sense of concern.
Through it's Coastline Campaign, launched in 2006, The National Trust for Jersey now feels compelled to provide a positive channel for this concern.
The principle aim of "A Line in the Sand" is to provide Islanders with a simple opportunity to actively and visibly show their suppport for the safeguarding of Jersey's superb coastline. The idea is to form a human chain along the beach at St Ouen stretching from Le Braye towards L'Etacq. Please join us at 1.00pm on Sunday 4 October to show your support for protecting Jersey's precious coastline. The event will be marked with an aerial photo taken at 2.00pm. For further information and updates visit www.coast.je or see local media. Mike Stentiford MBE, President, National Trust for Jersey, Coastline Campaign.

No "Line in the Sand" visible here yet, but on Sunday October 4th the President of the National Trust for Jersey, Mike Stentiford MBE, is hoping that hundreds, in not thousands of islanders, will join him here to suppport the NT Coastline Campaign, by gathering to form a human chain (A Line in the Sand) to show their support for the safeguarding of Jersey's superb coastline.
