Construction of the Lafayette Building in Detroit, Michigan began in 1923. The demolition of the building began in 2009.
The Italian Renaissance 14 story tower had a V-shaped design that allowed more offices to have windows and natural sunlight.

The Ambassador Bridge Gateway project has been ongoing since February 2008. It is scheduled to reopen on July 2, 2009. It was a project designed to make major upgrades to the freeway and connections to the Ambassador Bridge that connects Detroit to Canada.

The old Michigan train depot is a canvas for graffiti artists. The Michigan Central Depot was opened in 1913. The building was designed in the Beaux Art neoclassical style by architects Warren and Wetmore, and engineers Reed and Stern. The last train departed January 5, 1988 and the building was permanently closed. The decay began and the building has since been stripped to the bone by vandals. It is now a shell of its former self.
