I love the street art in Vienna, the stencils and cut ups and at least some of the grafitti. In the Museumsquartier we are are on edge of the Spittelberg area, "a center of the Vienna street art scene."
This corner is across the street (Burgasse) from our apartment - you can see it from our window.

You come up past St. Stephens, on Rotenturmstrasse, and you can get great books just off Rotenturmstrasse on Wollzeite at Wawowa books, or coffee and amazing treats at the corner of the next street, Lichtensteig at Zanoni and Zanoni, or turn right and go to Figlmüller for amazing Schnitzel on Backerstrsse. The schnitzel is literally bigger than your plate - you should get the small, half portion, even if the waiter jokes with you that you are a c...

'The Imperial Cabinet of Natural Curiosities' you could call it.
Old things in antique wooden cabinets. No fancy remounting here. If they have a Tyrannosaurus rex here I am sure it is still mounted upright, on legs and tail!
(though they do have a copy of Dippy, the Diplloducus donated to them by Andrew Carnegie in 1909.
The museum opened in 1889. Putting it on par with construction of the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, in Pittsburgh, which opened in 1896.
