This shot of the town of Rooi Els (300 houses total) is taken from atop my rental car, parked next to a small nature preserve right in the center of town, adjacent to the ocean.

The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an oceanfront amusement park in Santa Cruz, California. Founded in 1907 it is California's oldest surviving amusement park and one of two seaside parks on the West Coast of the United States (the other being the Santa Monica Pier).
The eastern end of the boardwalk is dominated by the Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of the best-known wooden coasters in the world and one of the most visible landmarks in Santa Cruz. The Dipper and the Looff Carousel, whic...

This is the second of three GigaPans I took on the 21st of December 2008 of the Twelve Apostles. The first picture was taken just out of view in the right center of the picture where the elevated walkway goes out of sight.
Since I couldn't put it any more concisely, here is a description from www.visitvictoria.com
The Twelve Apostles are giant rock stacks that rise majestically from the Southern Ocean and are the central feature of the rugged Port Campbell National Park. The Twelve Apo...

From the tower at the Chanel Islands National Park. This was taken on Memorial Day 2009 as part of a set from the tower. Lots of activity on the water resulted in lots of things getting cut off. Taken using Gigapan Epic 100 and Canon S5 IS

This is #5, the last in my Manhattan Beach Pier Christmas Gigapan series.
The view is South to Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Peninsula and Catalina Island.
The new moon shined above the ocean while the Christmas lights on the pier glowed.
By time the scene was complete it was dark, making for a few long exposures

I have had the fortune to go to the Twelve Apostles twice now and both times it has been hazy. No big deal, just wish I could have taken a GigaPan on a nice clear day. In this GigaPan, the different colors of the cliff on the right are from where the sun did come out of the clouds for a while and then went back behind the clouds. The washed out area in the middle is where the sun came out, and the colorful areas are where the sun was behind the clouds. This is the first of three GigaPans I t...
