Hawaii Pacific University Modern Media Systems class on the Fort Street Mall in Downtown Honolulu. Question of the day: how can a collaboration that includes Carnegie Mellon University, NASA, GOOGLE, National Geographic, and faculty and students at Hawaii Pacific University expand our understanding of modern media systems? In other words, what emerging, unique potentials are being leveraged by these institutions and their communities in our network of networks project? In part this image con...

There is a parable in Matthew 25 that speaks of feeding the poor. I believe that these words from 2000 years ago, as well as words from other religions of the world, create a foundation of the rich giving food to the poor and of wealthy nations providing sustenance to the poor nations that are in need.
I am impressed by what Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church is doing and have created this panorama to show others what some people in Houston are doing on the local level to give nourishment ...

This small interior panorama of the Lincoln Memorial is taken by hand (no tripod) inside the space. Most indoor and many outdoor spaces in Washington DC forbid tripods, as the police and secret service kept telling me!

The St. Louis, MO skyline taken on the grounds of the Gateway Arch, or, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial. In the center is the Old Courthouse, site of the 1856 Dred Scott case. The stitcher had a hard time making a coherent Arch, sadly.

Other views of the Houston Police Memorial can be seen via this link http://gigapan.org/gigapans/most_popular/?q=houstonpolice ... you will notice that one of them was taken three years ago to this date (taken with a Leica D-Lux 3), and one two years and one month ago (Canon SX110). Based on the tree comparisons, the drought has had an effect, but not as bad as I had expected.
The curved panorama view via the "View in Google Earth" is really beautiful.

Tenterden Kent on a rainy, cloudy and sunny plus bitterly cold day. All this in less than 15 minutes! My fingers were so cold I could hardly disengage the Lumix LX3 from the Gigapan machine!
This was a quick test to see how the Stitcher (and myself) might cope with varying weather conditions - sun/cloud/rain, shine, cold etc. I had to enlarge this file to get it uploaded on the Gigapan website (well - at least I'm experimenting). Hence I expect the detail will be less than brilliant...
