Here's the main lawn at the Harold L. Lyon Arboretum, a research and education arm of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I'm working on a 1.5 gigapixel version.
Brisk trade winds and rapidly moving clouds made this a difficult image to capture.

This rare ecosystems once covering 100,000 acres of Maryland has now been reduced to less than 1000 acres, 90% of which can be found at Soldiers Delight NEA. The serpentine bedrock underlying this area has unique soil chemistry and supports many rare and endangered plant an dinsect species. Native Americans and lightning fires once kept this habitat open but Virginia Pine and Green Briar are fast encroaching.

green and blue waters and white sand beaches. No swimming but many glass bottom boats to see the coral reefs.
site of black pearl cultivation.
This beautiful example of nature is also a reflection of the wonderful hospitality of the people ofIshigaki.

Extreme closeup detail of a 'Croton' leaf, with individual cells visible upon zooming in. Hey, I coined the term 'GIGAMACRO' with this one so check it out! Very high zoom magnification possible. Composed from 210 separate images with a 200 mm macro lens. These plants were originally from the Caribbean.
