As you approach you can see both the upper and lower falls. As you get closer you can only see the lower falls. At this time of year (late fall) there is little water coming over the falls and it allowed people to play on the rocks below. Canon S5IS Gigapan Epic 100 |

Test post of large pano greater than 60,000 pixels wide
No post-processing (sharpening, cropping, color boost, etc) due to the fact that I can't even open the file (Too many pixels wide.) Working with AutoPano Pro. I thought I had covered all of the ground when shooting, but for some reason the software is having some problems picking up some of the shots. Anyone know how to defeat this? I can't open this in Photoshop and add some detail from another photo. I have several more from this day that I am still processing, and will upload later. |

From the tower at the Chanel Islands National Park. This was taken on Memorial Day 2009 as part of a set from the tower. Lots of activity on the water resulted in lots of things getting cut off. Taken using Gigapan Epic 100 and Canon S5 IS |

This was a sort of a test as I used the autofocus feature to see if I got clearer shots than with the manual focus. Alligator Lake is in rural Osceola County, Florida to the Southeast of the Orlando metro area. a pretty Saturday morning by the lake. |

Addison Oktoberfest 2008 - September 18 - 21, 2008
I shot this yesterday evening on the first day of Addison's Octoberfest. It was still a little early so not many people are around. The guy in the suit with all the medals showed up after I shot the GigaPan so I backed the robot up and reshot him. My friend Joe has a new GigaPan also and we set his up and shot as well. You can see his gigapan unit on the far left. This GigaPan is 7 images high and 63 images wide, 441 total images. Tomorrow I shoot a Balloon Festival, so check back in a few days. Please bookmark this image if you like it or leave me a comment. http://www.addisontexas.net/events/Oktoberfest/ More than 60,000 fans of polka, German food and Paulaner Bier will gather in Addison?s spectacular Addison Circle Park for four days of music, folk dancing, sing-alongs, children?s entertainment and more. Addison?s four-day, authentic German festival is one of the largest Oktoberfest festivals outside of the famed Munich celebration. |

Syri i kalter is a natural spring believed to be fed by Ioanina lake in Greece. Divers have not yet been able to touch the bottom. The name is said to come from a sound engineer who worked for some years in the nearby hydropower station, and compared the spring with the blue eyes of his fiancée.
I'd been here once before three years prior and told my wife I wanted to swim in it the next time. Of course, she thought that was crazy. We made it back late in the afternoon, on September 4, 2009. The sun was setting and the colors were not as brilliant as before, but the spot was still beautiful. I setup the gigapan and quickly stripped down to my shorts, standing on the shore line while my wife watched carefully the direction of the Gigapan robot. One her cue, I dove in and felt a cold shock the likes of which I'd never felt -- and probably hope to avoid in the future. I started swimming furiously across the short distance, but my muscles had to work much harder than I expected and it seemed to take a while to get to the other side. Exhilerating but pretty scary too. In order to get in this shot, I had to time it perfectly. I wasn't sure the gigapan was going to capture me and was very pleased to see that it did. The heat is almost unbearable and here we have a choice of a cool campechana or an explosive water main. Even though the cool campechana is great, on this day, I'd take the water main.
To take this panorama, I had to act fast; by the time I took the last photo on the right, the two dudes had shut off the water and it seems that the cars going by confused either me or the Stitcher. |
