Every Sunday for a year and a half, starting in October 1997, a group of Pittsburgh metal artists sneaked into the abandoned Carrie Furnace site, along with their tools and equipment. They used materials found on site to create a 45' tall deer head. The group - Industrial Arts Collective - is currently working on a large scale sculpture on the former Jones and Laughlin and LTV mill sites, on the South Side of Pittsburgh.
