This is a higer resolution image of the lights of Casa del Pomba - The House of the Dove - in Livermore California, the hub of Photon Valley. This annual event uses 301,000 lights to transform Deacon Dave's front yard into a very special place. Hundreds of laughing children and smiling adults come through here each night in December to view the display. The project is a major undertaking by the oversized elves that contribute to its construction each year. Jim is working to improve the performance of the snow machine that is apparently impacted by climate change. The spirit of Santa exists in the hearts and minds of those who bring this place to life.

This is #5, the last in my Manhattan Beach Pier Christmas Gigapan series. The view is South to Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Palos Verdes Peninsula and Catalina Island. House of the Dove is Deacon Dave's most publically appreciated work. The 301,000 lights, scenes, trains, fountain, and pools are a big draw. This work is the product of the efforts of many somewhat large elves. |

Mysore Palace in Mysore, India, illuminated by tens of thousands of individual light bulbs. This lighting display normally occurs on Sunday nights or during the festival of Dasara, but on December 21st the lights were on between 7PM and 8PM in commemoration of (I think) an Islamic holiday. |

Photo notes: Tungsten white balance, camera was on a 6 second self timer to eliminate any vibration from the GigaPan imager then went to a two second exposure at 80 ISO for the clearest resolution. I also programed a 15 second wait time between exposures to have enough write time. 391 images were taken to stitch this image. |

This is my first night GigaPan that I have been wanting to take. Its of one of the places in Hawaii that you can get the best view of the Honolulu-Waikiki city lights. Known by all locals and many visitors.
