Camera: Canon G-10. Conditions: low-light, planned to take w/ISO 400 but went with 100, +2 compensation, manual focus Note: I'm don't know why the upper part of the image in blurry; I imagine I did something wrong with setting up intial focus; very grainy, as expected, but can detect some subtle detail still

This is the Paddock area of the 24h Le Mans Race 2009. I shot the images at 3 a.m. at night. It took about 90minutes due to using the self timer of the cam, a 2sec. exposure time and a 10 sec. Giga Pan delay to prevent the pictures from blurring. I don“t no why.. but in some pix is blurring..? But stitching worked fine! 200 Pix in total! |

The Howrah Bridge is a bridge that spans the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. It was originally named the New Howrah Bridge because it links the city of Howrah to its twin city, Kolkata (Calcutta). On 14 June 1965 it was renamed Rabindra Setu, after Rabindranath Tagore a great poet and the first Indian Nobel laureate. However it is still popularly known as the Howrah Bridge.
The bridge is one of three on the Hooghly River and is a famous symbol of Kolkata and West Bengal. Apart from bearing the stormy weather of the Bay of Bengal region, it successfully bears the weight of a daily traffic of approximately 150,000 vehicles and 4,000,000 pedestrians. It is the sixth longest bridge of its type in the world. ************************************************************** Please contact Shashi Mettu at + 00-91-98495-30995 for Prints / Enlargements and Busssiness enquiries ************************************************************* |

This was actually the fourth lighthouse on this point since the mid 1700's. The first two were destroyed in storms, the third was burned by Union soldiers during the Civil War, and this is the final one. The walls are 12 feet thick (4 meters) at the base. |
