Chicago's Navy Pier. It used to be part of the U.S. Navy facility in WW2, then for a while the University of Illinois (of which I'm affiliated) was located here. Now it's one of the big tourist attractions along the lake, with the Ferris Wheel, an IMAX theater, The Children's Museum, and a number of shops and events. |

A 57 image collection (3x19) handheld panorama of Lake Waiau looking north towards the summit of Mauna Kea. Two observatories are barely visible above the ridge of the crater forking the ice age lake. A very poor sky blend/fix/replacement affects one of the observatories. |

The Roethbachfall is the tallest waterfall in Germany. It's located in the very southeast corner of Germany, close to the Koenigssee. The falls consist of three tiers, a large horsetail, a smaller plunge, and a series of cascades before the stream flows into Lake Obersee and later into Lake Koenigssee.
This is a 360° x 180° view at a focal length of 50mm. Amazing view in Google Earth or even better here: http://www.360cities.net/image/roethbachfall-koenigsee-obersee-alps-bavaria |

Shot from the south side of Lake Tahoe's Emerald Bay in Emerald Bay State Park just off of highway 89. Something was auto-adjusting on the camera, so the picture has this weird halo effect. The camera was brand new to me at this time, so I didn't know how to disable all of the features. |

Sweeping panoramas are what the GigaPan excels at, so every once in a while you just have to climb a mountain and see as much real estate as you can.
I wonder if Champ - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Champ_%28legend%29 - is lurking out there somewhere? |

The "lakefront" in Columbia, Maryland, as seen from across Lake Kittamaqundi. One of America's first "planned communities," Columbia works hard to maintain a very liveable environment. There are many small lakes and parks where strolling and biking are encouraged. Lake Kittamaqundi is located in Columbia's Town Center, just across the street from The Mall in Columbia. It is lined with a boardwalk and paved bike paths. There are many restaurants, condos, and a hotel on the lakefront.
The fall foliage shows up well in this panorama obtained on October 25, 2009. There are also some Canada geese in the water. This panorama is taken was taken about 100 yards from the other one we posted. |

A low lake shasta from down on the banks.
The ground was littered with dead and open freshwater clams. Put not your faith into a constant water level in lake shasta... |

There is a nice walking trail above the vineyards between Stäfa and Uerikon called Goetheweg.
