Shot from the Lakeview Blvd bridge over Interstate 5 in Seattle, WA. From this view one can see the Space Needle, Lake Union and Queen Anne Hill.
The "wavy" areas in the image that you can see when zoomed in are due to heat being expelled from nearby building ventilation systems on a fairly cold November morning. Shooting was paused and resumed several times due to clouds passing overhead blocking the sun. Comprised of 530 12MP shots from a Panasonic Lumix GF1 45-200 @ 200mm (400mm 35 equiv). |

Roosevelt Lake, Arizona.
A perfect day for a photo, except for the one boat that left its wake. |

Matthew and Lauren inside the Library Shanty on frozen Medicine Lake. For an exterior view see http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/40983/
"The Library Shanty seeks to bring about interaction between art, the public, and the lake through sharing books and providing an environment in which to interact. The Medicine Lake Branch's collection will specifically deal in art and regional cultural activities. We seek to function in a number of ways: to document the exchange and history of objects and information; to serve as a gathering place and location for cultural exchange; and to exhibit notable subjects and ideas within the context of the library's holdings. Come hang out at the Medicine Lake Branch and create a library card, join a book clubs or enjoy the curated shelf-sized art exhibitions." |

This view shows lake Grevelingen, the old city of Goedereede and nature area Koudenhoek. This area is a favorite place for many birds for a winter stay over.
--------------------------------------------------------------- The 184 images (in 4 rows) for this 360 degree panorama are shot with a GigaPan Beta2 robot and a Canon G9 @ 210mm. Generally the GigaPan stitcher is doing a very fine job but it always fails to stitch the horizon without errors in scenes like this one. Because the stitcher lacks any option to manualy position an image it is very often not the best tool to use so I hope the people of GigaPan will give the stitcher more options to make manually positioning possible. So instead of the GigaPan stitcher I had to stitch the images in PTGui 8.1 but with this application 59 images (1/3 of all images !) were not placed in the proper position (due to missing control points in all images of the toprow and a lot of images in the water) so I had to place those images myself in the right position. Manually placing so many images is a hard and almost undoable task and therefore I wrote a HyperCard script (running on a Mac with Classic OS9) to this job for me. Basicly the script is searching for a "anchor" image nearby in the same row and is then placing the image based on the position of that anchor image. To make it work at least one image in every row has to be in the proper position. As you can see the script did a great job. :-) I hope you enjoy the view. ------------------------------------------------------------------- |

Rachel and Andrea inside the FantaShanty. You can see an exterior view here: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/40983/
"The FantaShanty invites visitors to step off the ice and into a lush, enchanted forest of magic, puppetry and story telling. Guests are welcome to sit in warmth upon soft mushrooms, tree stumps or the grassy forest floor, to listen to readings of their favorite fairy tales and watch live puppet shows. In addition to performances, visitors are invited to drink hot tea and look through the woods for hidden plants, animals, and other magical creatures." |
