No, you mustn't laugh - I was in a terrible accident.
First serious test of the Epic 100 with my Canon 400D. Shot at f/20 and +/-2 bracketing. |
|
A beautiful July 4th concert featuring the National Repertory Orchestra and the Lake Dillon Theatre performers. See how many American flags you can spot!
Created using a Canon T1i and Gigapan Epic 100. APG output to HDR to Photomatix for tone mapping to accentuate the holiday colors and scenic background, then blended HDR and standard exposure shots by hand in Photoshop to eliminate motion bluring of the people in the scene. |

Part of a tone-mapping experiment. This is the result of stitching the original images with Autopano Pro with no adjustments.
I used this image as the dark or under-exposed layer. The final result is http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=20541. |

This panorama was my first one done with high dynamic range (hdr). It is made from 13 stacks of 3 images each for a total of about 18EV worth of exposure. Unfortunately, the wind was blowing very hard that night and even with the tripod "locked" in place by piling boulders around the legs, there was still enough camera movement over the long exposures (up to 30s) to blur the images when zoomed in close.
If you feel like trying something like this yourself, you can read the whole, painful story at: http://www.backgroundexposure.com/blog/index.php/2007/12/25/more-punishment/ and (older) http://www.backgroundexposure.com/blog/index.php/2007/10/17/night-panorama-hdr/ |

Within the beautiful Falls Park in downtown Greenville, you will find this amazing tree. Referred to as the "Falls Park Tree" – or sometimes the "Medusa Tree" – its exposed, gnarled roots are one of the park's most popular sights.
This is my first attempt at a Gigapan in HDR. |
|
My first attempt at capturing the roof. Stitched with Autopano and tone-mapped from jpegs. See http://share.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=19118 for stitcher notes.
The image is a blend of http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=20601 and http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=20576. Please let me know which of the three images you prefer! Green Park used to be Bath's other train station. It is now used as an indoor market and occasional venue for concerts. The station can be seen from afar: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=9802&snapshot_id=27953. My second gigapixel HDR image. Spent a lot of time photoshopping fast-moving details such as the cop car and a people so that very few HDR artifacts remain. Again a lot of work but really happy with the result. Enjoy! |

After about 3-4 days of wrestling with my computer, I finally got an hdr panorama i'm really happy with. Bracketed +/- 2.0, tone mapped as hdrs in photomatix, stiched using autopano giga, corrected and exported in photoshop. A lot of work, but I really like the result, and the fact that this would be 3.5 x 13 ft long at 250 dpi. More to come! |
