The San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge is unique by the fact the bridge goes into and through an island. The Yerba Buena tunnel disects through Treasure Island and is the midpoint of the bridge. Forming part of Interstate 80 and of the direct road route between San Francisco and Oakland, it carries approximately 270,000 vehicles per day on its two decks. It has one of the longest spans in the world. Shown in this panorama is the portion of the bridge from San Francisco into Treasure Island. Not seen in this panorama is the 2nd portion of the bridge which spans from Treasure Island to Oakland. The Bay Bridge opened for traffic on November 12, 1936, six months before the Golden Gate Bridge. |

This otherwise spectacular view is unfortunately spoiled by either motion of the camera, or possibly the image stabilization in the camera. I will experiment, unfortunately this shooting location is no longer available.

Taken from the View Lounge on top of the Marriott in San Fransico, looking west away from downtown. Visibility was not superb, so I may return and take the photo again on a more clear evening. Some opportunites for more excitement might also present themsevles when the convention center is hosting a large converence, or closer to the busy holiday season. |

Sutro Baths area 4 days later than my previous. I've included the other part of the area that wasn't in my previous panorama. I also sharpened the pictures so you can see more details.
I found numerous activities taking place, from fishing, surfing, jet skiing, climbing, animal/bird watching to hiking. Interestingly there's a person sitting by a seal that had clearly died and was bloated, thus decomposing and smelling. Dahlia (family Asteraceae) grow well in the San Francisco area. The flowers come in many forms and range in size from 2 to 10 inches in diameter. They also come in many colors. The plant is named for Andreas Dahl, a Swedish botanist. |

This is the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It is an amazing place - the architecture is just amazing. The view is also awesome ! I liked the place a lot - the walk around it is very nice. I envy the people who have houses just opposite the Palace of Fine Arts ! I wish I had a house there ! The houses there are amazing !
