This was the very first Gigapan image I ever shot using a new Canon Powershot G9 12MP camera. I am not happy with the quality at all as there is far too much digital noise given the lighting conditions and the price of the camera. In the future I will probably use the noise reduction capabilities of Adobe Photoshop prior to running the stitching software.
This photo was taken on a dock on the North side of Alligator Lake, just east of St. Cloud, Florida. |

Space Shuttle Discovery launches from Cape Canaveral, about 200 miles away from the Howard Park beach on Florida's west cost. |

This was a sort of a test as I used the autofocus feature to see if I got clearer shots than with the manual focus. Alligator Lake is in rural Osceola County, Florida to the Southeast of the Orlando metro area. a pretty Saturday morning by the lake. |

Harmony, Florida is a large, planned, golf community which bills itself as being eco-friendly. This scene, taken by the golf course, typifies the flavor of the growing new community which just 7 years ago was open pasture and pine hammocks. Harmony is located just to the South East of Orlanda in the rural areas of Osceola County. Numerous sculptures throughout accentuate the developments 'harmony' with nature. |

Gasparilla Pirate Fest is an annual celebration held in the streets and waterways of Tampa, Florida. The history and name traces back to the legends about the antics of a pirate called Jose Gaspar. Gaspar reputedly patrolled the waters of West Florida during the late 18th century. The annual festivities begin when the fully rigged pirate ship sails into the heart of Tampa. With flags flying and cannons booming the vessel makes its way through Hillsborough Bay and is joined by hundreds of pleasure craft and vessels of all shapes and sizes. The pirates land at the convention center in downtown Tampa. The mayor of Tampa then lends the key of the city to the pirate captain.
A parade then follows down Bayshore Boulevard. The Krewes throw beads, coins and other items while shooting blank pistols from floats during the parade. The annual event is attended by over 400,000 people and is often been referred to as the Mardi Gras of Tampa. Hundreds of boats in motion add to the fun of this panorama made from 90 photographs captured over several minutes of time. You will find some boats and and people appearing more than once and a few half boats. |

Skyline of St. Petersburg, Florida from overlook at Albert Whitted Airport. On the extreme left is the Mahaffey Theater, and on the extreme right is the St. Petersburg Pier. Docked at the pier is the HMS Bounty, used in many movies including the MGM original "Mutiny on the Bounty". |
