We shot this from Mt. Washington, looking down at The Point (where the Monongahela & Allegheny Rivers join to form the Ohio), from which the fireworks were launched. Our panorama includes glimpses of the crowds at The Point and in the Northside (near the stadiums).
We shot two panoramas in quick succession and chose selected images from each set to put this mosaic together. Including the crowd around us in the picture turned out to be a good decision, I think. No one does fireworks quite like Boston; this year's was the largest and most complex Boston Fourth of July pyrotechnic display to date. More than 20 thousand pounds of explosives were used for the display, which included the largest shells yet to be used - ten-inch diameter shells climbed to 1500 feet.

Every year in December Manhattan Beach celebrates Christmas with a fireworks show. Manhattan Beach blvd is closed off and people bring their chairs, food, etc. to watch the event. This image is taken with 45 shots, Nikon P5100 (12mp). Unfortunatly, the camera and the fireworks were a bit out of sync. When the camera was shooting the particular images of the sky, the fireworks weren't going off and I wasn't able to reshoot do to the long exposure times. Thought I'de upload it anyway...there's always next year. |

Taken right before the 4th of July fireworks show. This is one of a series, all of which are tagged 'fireworks'. |

The fireworks show in Pittsburgh's downtown - the show was about 30 minutes, enough time for me to get three gigapans. This is the first. Taken from the West End overlook |

The downtown area after the 4th of July fireworks show. You can see how the fireworks created a cloud that hangs in front of the city, and how all of the roads out of town are jammed with cars. |
