First shot i've taken that I feel was worth the extra time to photoshop and make perfect, including everything from the Mercedes Benz shoot to the cars stopped in traffic on the West Side Highway. Also what I think is the first shot taken at this resolution of the new Highline Park that's just opened. Definitely the most time i've ever spent working on a single picture...pretty good view from here. Printing as big as I can as well. enjoy! |

This is an old elevated rail line that runs through lower Manhattan. It has been converted into a park, an open walkway with interesting views of the city. This view is of some artwork at the north end of the walk. See http://gigapan.org/gigapans/41402/ for another view from 17th street. The focus was set on the artwork, so the background is not as sharp as it could be. |

This was an experiment that didn't completely work out. This one was to capture both the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building. Taken from the corner of 47th and 6th, same position as the NY3. Kit: Epic 100, Olympus E510, 40-150 kit lens, 150mm (300mm 35mm equivalent), 1/15th s at f5.6. ISO 100 While the dynamics of the picture could be bettered in Lightroom, this introduced so many artifacts that it made little or no sense to do so. I'd have to go to a full frame sensor and significantly boost the ISO to get significantly better results, and the Epic 100 doesn't handle much larger than what I have. |

Panorama, looking north toward the Empire State Building from balcony on 13th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, Manhattan. Overcast. |

Taken from Blvd E, Weehawken New Jersey. The panoramic shows the western side of Manhattan Island (New York City) from the George Washington Bridge to Battery Park, Brooklyn, Staten Island and Governor's Island. There is at least one helicopter. Can you find it? Copyright 2008 George Brandes |
