The Sandpiper is a traditional bed and breakfast located on California’s North coast in Elk California. The rooms have a great view of a cove and the surf. A large and lush garden exists on the surf side with a bench or two. This is a fine place to watch the sunset and have a little wine. The rooms here are comfortable and traditional.

Menefee Mountain In Southwestern Colorado USA
I hiked up from the highway but the Gigapan shutter plunger fell off in my truck. I ended up pushing the shutter by hand . I had seen alot of deer tracks on the way up and a few to many mountain lion tracks. Toward the end of the shoot I saw a large mule deer buck and was disappointed when I realized that he wasn't going to be in the pan. I got home and was pleasantly surprised to see I had caught some anyway. I must say that that this Gigapanning is great fun. It a new answer to the age old question "Why does a man climb a mountain?" Happy Hunting |

Meta-GigaPan of Richard Palmer (Apapane) shooting an elk herd in Moraine Park, Rocky Mountain National Park. See Richard's GigaPan here: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=5729 |

The meadow at Moraine Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, with part of the continental divide in the background. There's a nice herd of elk grazing in the meadow, along with an unidentified photographer in the distance, possibly taking a macro shot.
I stitched only 10 rows x 55 columns of a 20R x 91C image - cut out a lot of extraneous stuff, and badly overexposed sky. Even so, banding due to lighting variation is still an issue. |

Some of the best light a photographer could ask for... well worth delaying breakfast a little while. |

This is a popular view of the Teton Range taken from low ridge near the Jackson Lake Lodge.
Wildlife are abundant in the meadow in the foreground and you can see Jackson Lake dam and the lake in front of the mountain range. I used a Nikon D5000 and 300 mm lens. |

Nothing quite like a chair lift to get one to a good vantage point! And I got done shooting this one just in time, too - an approaching thunderstorm threatened to shut down the lift within a half an hour of the time I got off the mountain. |

This full 360 panorama shows the morining light filling the garden of the bed and breakfast inn in Elk California.

Given the questionable weather forecasts I decided to shoot a GigaPan of Moraine Park on the evening of my arrival in Estes Park, Colorado for the Fine Outreach for Science (FOFS) GigaPan conference. The lighting wasn't great, but at least all of the peaks around the valley were in the clear. Thirty seven hours later I shot another Gigapan from this location with much better light: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=5421 |
