London at Night, taken from the South Bank Centre. Big Ben and the London Eye can be seen on the left, whilst the Royal Air Force Memorial, crowned by Sir William Reid Dick’s gilt eagle, can be seen in the centre of the GigaPan. There are numerous other hidden details to be discovered here.

4,805Megapixals sure takes a loooong time to stitch, and upload! This GigaPan of Kalalau valley was taken with the focus lock off. When I reached Kalalau it was kind of foggy but it cleared up so I started taking the GigaPan, but it started to get fogged in at the end of the GigaPan.
This one is kind of neat, you can zoom up to the what seems like dew on a single blade of grass on the other side of the railing. The lighting on the left ridge of Kalalau valley is pretty good, nice shadows. |

Woo Hoo... this is exciting stuff here, which I did not know about until a week ago. The Houston Press is a weekly paper and once a year, there is a special issue containing the *best* of everything that the city of Houston offers up, and this issue states that the most scenic park in all of Houston is this park, Elizabeth Baldwin Park. Name ring a bell? She was the wife of William Marsh Rice (not just any William Marsh Rice, but this William Marsh Rice: http://www.gigapan.org/gigapans/10339/snapshots/28801/ the founder of Rice Institute). There was a contested will and lots of intrigue between her and William and may be a very interesting read, but this panorama is not about that; rather, it is about this lovely 4.5 acre park having century-old live oaks, which we see in this very special panorama.
This hand-held 360-panorama was taken by my trusty Nikon D70 with a new lens, the Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G. Additional details can be found on Stitcher Notes with information there concerning the GigaPan Stitcher run. Also, I was happy to get this hard-to-find lens. Due to lens quality and low cost, it is very popular, so I celebrated my good fortune by buying a Heliopan UV filter. Note: This panorama can be seen in Google Earth as a beautiful 360-degree curved panorama on a curved surface by clicking the link, View in Google Earth (assuming that you have Google Earth installed on your computer). |

This is a high resolution photo of Kalalau valley taken with my canon SX110 at 10X zoom, so I think you might be able to find more stuff in this photo. Unfortunately I'm still working on taking better GigaPans.
I was trying to get everything in focus I guess I should have not locked my focus. Any GigaPaners out their that can give me some helpful hints, send me a message. I thought that it would be interesting to see how different the same location would look with different lighting conditions so I have uploaded 3 different GigaPans of Kalalau Valley with different lighting conditions and I plan to upload one more. The last one that I upload of Kalalau will be the one that I think has the best lighting. So watch for it! It will be comming up with other GigaPans of Kauai. |
