The Royal Gorge Bridge is a tourist attraction near Cañon City, Colorado, within a 360 acre (1.5 km²) theme park, hanging 1,053 feet (321 m) above the Arkansas River and billed as the highest suspension bridge in the world. The Royal Gorge Route Railroad runs under the bridge along the base of Royal Gorge. The bridge is 1260 feet (384 m) long and 18 feet (5 m) wide, with a wooden walkway with 1292 planks. The bridge is suspended from towers that are 150 feet (46 m) high.
The panorama is made of 480 pictures at focal length of 400mm. Due to file size limitations I have uploaded a smaller version only. Any commercial use or publication of the image, in whole or in part, without prior written authorization of the copyright holder is strictly prohibited. |

Authorized by the city of Canon City in 1929 the bridge is the highest suspension bridge over water in the world (1,053 feet). The river below is the Arkansas River. Note in the image the tourist train in the canyon and the wite-water rafters on the river. A helicopter is captured in three places as it does flight seeing. An aerial tram is seen in the far right of image. The image was caught with an Epic GigaPan and a Canon G10 having a 1.4X teleextender attached, giving an effective 200mm focal length. The GigaPan was optimized in Photoshop CS4. |

This mural depicts the era when cotton was king. There is not much cotton produced around Magnolia any more. The farm land is used mostly for raising cattle while the majority of the land in the area is covered in pine trees. |

This is a mural depicting one of the main events in Magnolia each year; the Blossom Festival. The square is blocked off for the third weekend of each May for craft vendors to set up shop in the streets. This three day event includes a parade and is capped off by The World Champion Steak Cook Off. All entries sell their gourmet steaks to all that will eat. Yum yum! The courthouse in the background is part of the mural. (from http://www.geocities.com/wduggan/magnolia.html) |
