spacer Charles Bridge (Czech: Karlů) is a famous historical bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of 15th century. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau), the Charles Bridge used to be the most important connection between the Old Town, Prague Castle and adjacent areas until 1841. Also this 'solid-land' connection made Prague important as a trade route between east and west Europe. The bridge was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Pražský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870.

The bridge is 516 meters long and nearly 10 meters wide, resting on 16 arches shielded by ice guards. It is protected by three bridge towers, two of them on the Lesser Quarter side and the third one on the Old Town side. The Old Town bridge tower is often considered to be one of the most astonishing civil gothic-style buildings in the world. The bridge is decorated by a continuous alley of 30 statues and statuaries, most of them baroque-style, erected around 1700.

spacer This is a big gigapan I shot on Saturday evening. It's a huge Gigapan and took 16 hours to stitch. 47 images wide X 23 images tall totaling 1081 images.
I missed some of the balloons on the first pass so I backed the unit up and reshot a section. The lighter background in the sky was caused when I readjusted the exposure during shooting. The sun was setting fast and light was fading.

spacer This is the view from the roof of Bath Abbey.

I am amazed by this pano because I never expected it to stitch.

I was delighted to get access to the roof of the main tower of the abbey, but dismayed when I realised the parapets were too high to see over, so there was no clear view of anything, and each corner of the roof has some tall stonework so even if I could get a view from one of the sides of the tower then I wouldn't be able to take a 360° pano.

Given there was nothing else I could do, I held my camera over my head as high as I could and pointed it in the right general direction and took about 12 shots.

I repeated this blind shooting on each of the four sides of the tower.

Amazingly, not only did the four separate views stitch but the four views stitched into a 360°.

Obviously there is a certain amount of distortion and parallax, but still, this is rapidly becoming one of my favourite shots.

For a view of what is beneath the photographer's feet, see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7547.

spacer A look at Hanauma from the opposite side. I used full zoom plus the Canon 1.5x tele-extender - zoom ~650mm equivalent. I forgot my glasses, so inadvertently used Aperture Priority rather than Manual (the double A I saw looked like an M. :^\
Maybe AutoPanoGiga will soon be able to fix this problem!
This image also shows the auto-focus limits of this point and shoot. I look forward to a DSLR model so I can return to this spot and take a new gigapan with my Olympus E-510. Notice, though, that you can see people on the trail up to Makapu`u Point, about 6.5 km (4 miles)distance!

spacer You can find many stores like this in north of Iran. In this store everything can be found: honey, dolls, cookies, chess, etc. This is why I call it "everything-can-be-found" store :)

Note: The location I took this photo may vary a little with the location I geo-coded it, but still in the same area.

spacer Barcelona's Montjuïc is a broad shallow hill with a relatively flat top overlooking the harbour, to the southeast of the city centre. The eastern side of the hill is almost a sheer cliff, giving it a commanding view over the city's harbour immediately below. The top of the hill (a height of 173 metres) was the site of several fortifications, the latest of which (the Castell de Montjuïc) remains today.

The Port of Barcelona has a 2000-year history and a great contemporary commercial importance. It is Europe's ninth largest container port, with a trade volume of 2.3 million TEU's in 2006. The port is managed by the Port Authority of Barcelona. Its 7.86 km2 (3 sq mi) are divided into three zones: Port Vell (the Old Port), the commercial port and the logistics port (Barcelona Free Port). The port is undergoing an enlargement that will double its size thanks to diverting the mouth of the Llobregat river 2 km (1¼ mi) to the south.

The Port Vell (old port) area also houses the Maremagnum (a commercial mall), a multiplex cinema, the IMAX Port Vell and an aquarium.

spacer Tavazo-e-Bustan Nut Store is located in Bustan shopping center near Punak Square. I was walking in Bustan shopping center that I found this beautiful store. At first I thought maybe it is not a good place for a panorama because of the little space and distance from the camera, but fortunately I decided to give it a try. I love the result.
You can find many different kinds of nuts in the photo, also many chocolates, even drinks such as Rani :)
