I made this Gigapan image from the north press platform during President Obama's inaugural address at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC on January 20, 2009. It's made up of 220 images and the final image size is 59,783 X 24,658 pixels or 1,474 megapixels.
There are a few known stitching errors in this image. A NEW VERSION of the photo with most of the stitching errors corrected can be seen here: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=17217 ** PRINTS OF THE NEW VERSION ARE AVAILABLE: http://www.ObamaGigapan.com For more information and to get on my mailing list, send a blank email to: pano (at) davidbergman (dot) net |

________________________________ This is the same Hanauma Bay panorama as http://gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=4450. It's 70 columns X 25 rows of individual 8 megapixel frames stitched almost seamlessly by the GigaPan stitcher. Wave movement and people movement result in some interesting, often fun, stitching results, though. Mahalo nui loa to Scott Telstad for fixing the exposure anomalies on the fully stitched image. |

226042x21693px image will make you surprised of the details and the hiden places that could be seen. This is I thing the widest view of the town Kocani where the alomost 70% of the town is visible.
This is the hand made panorama with predicted overlaping. I thought will never complite the result I got. Before last step corrections the pano was between 6-7Gpx, but in order to get the nice composition and quality it was cropped in Photoshop to 5Gpx. At the begining I almost reached the Photoshop limit of 300.000 px. Amazing experiance and result if you exclude the little visible mistakes. And the 30Gb file was uploading for ages. PANORAMA FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TOWN COULD BE SEEN HERE: ПАНОРАМАТА ОД ДРУГАТА СТРАНА НА ГРАДОТ МОЖЕ ДА БИДЕ ВИДЕНА НА СЛЕДНИОВ ЛИНК: (http://gigapan.org/gigapans/30950) Green nature that sarrouns the town, "Brana Gragce" could be seen on folowing link: http://gigapan.org/gigapans/33685/ НА ПРЕТХОДНИОТ ЛИНК МОЖЕ ДА СЕ ВИДИ ИЗЛЕТНИЧКОТО МЕСТО "БРАНА ГРАТЧЕ". |

These pigs were individually decorated by local artists as a fund-raising initiative for the "Two Tunnels" sustainable transport project (http://www.twotunnels.org.uk/). They were on public display on the streets of Bath for six months in 2008 and were a great tourist attraction. You can see some of the pigs in their original locations by searching on the keyword "Bladud" and some of the snapshots have comments with links to the pig in the snapshot like this: http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=6439&snapshot_id=31294.
The original pig was sculpted by Alan Dun: http://www.alandun.co.uk and http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=11385&snapshot_id=31484. There are over 100 pigs in total. This pano shows most of them. Sadly for the public, the pigs were sold at public auction. Happily for the Two Tunnels project, they raised a great deal of money. At least one pig sold for tens of thousands of pounds. For an alternative version of this image taken later in the afternoon, see http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=11385. PIG ID PUZZLE (Open Research Problem, Experts Only) Are any of the following pigs in this pano? http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=6439&snapshot_id=31293 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7541&snapshot_id=31296 http://www.gigapan.org/viewGigapan.php?id=7459&snapshot_id=31285 Update. It seems that two of these pigs have been identified now by Texas_Photo - see comments below. |

A colleague of mine from NPR and I were trying to take a 360-panorama of Union Station in Washington DC until a security guard ordered us to stop, saying it was a private space and we had no rights to photograph it. You can see the guard just to the right of the center of the pic. We asked to see her supervisor, and when he came, he threatened us with arrest if we didn't leave. We never completed the panorama. |

Can you find the number of miles of cable it took to build the bridge? Speed limit on the bridge? Alcatraz? |
