The Plastiki Expedition is working to build a boat using recycled plastic materials, including plastic soda bottles for flotation. Architecture for Humanity is designing and building the vessel's habitation pod, which will be an experiment in off-grid living under harsh conditions. Once construction is complete, a trans-Pacific journey anticipated for spring/summer 2009.
